Testing the new Wordpress iPhone app

Just a quick post to test the new version 2 of the WordPress for iPhone app I discovered today. So far so good! Nice to be able to deal with pages and comments as well as posts. The local drafts never worked properly for me on the old version but they seem to be fixed now.

This should give me a better chance of actually using WordPress and blogging things when I’m out and about. Will finally test a picture and then upload.

This is a picture of our cat sleeping; just to prove the feature works!

Wordpress Plugin – Show/Hide Links v.3.0

I posted the other day that installing WordPress 2.1 (RC 1) had shown up some deficiencies in my Show/Hide Links plugin. I finally had time to sit down and fix it today.

The result is Show/Hide Links v.3.0.

There aren’t any changes in functionality, the only difference is that this version works with WordPress 2.1. For those who haven’t upgraded to the new WordPress release, you need version 2 of the plugin still.

I’ll get around to putting up a page for this plug-in shortly. In the meantime, please use the Download links below.

Show/Hide Links Downloads

Version 2 – for WordPress 1.5 – 2.0.x
Version 3 – for WordPress 2.1+

Update: Plugins page is now available.

Wordpress 2.1 RC1 – Show/Hide Links incompatibility.

As you’ll have likely seen in the usual places about the web, Wordpress 2.1 Release Candidate was released. The announcement was here. You can download it here.

I upgraded to this new release on this site and it’s been mostly fine except that my Show/Hide Links plugin doesn’t work. The database tables have been changed and the plugin calls something that’s no longer there.

Anyway, the 2 of you who use the plugin should not despair as I’ll be fixing it as soon as I have a few spare minutes; hopefully tomorrow morning. More news as I have it….

The End is In Sight…

You may have noticed that I’ve not been around much lately. While the main reason remains the tour, a large part of why I’ve been so busy has been the amount of websites I’ve suddenly been building.

I’ve just finished 2 of them for my old college friend Adam Hutchins. He called me up a while ago to revamp his Agency site and to build him a Personal site too. I started work about a month ago and finally got the 2nd one published today. It’s been a good project during which I’ve learnt a lot. Adam was very keen on having a content management system in place so I’ve spent much time fiddling with Wordpress templates! I’ve also written a couple of plugins along the way which I’ll package up and share with the general populus shortly.

More on these soon, as well as more about my impressions of the new MacBook.

Bye for now…

Mysterious ‘Test Events’

The astute among the 2 of you will notice “Test Event” listings appearing in the sidebar and on the new, temporary, Events page.

In case you’re wondering what that’s about, I’m testing a plugin which I’m doctoring for use on Wordpress-powered sites for Musicians. When I’ve got everything working to my satisfaction, they’ll disappear again!
