In the hope that it may help point Search Engines in the right direction, I’d like to mention the problems I’ve been having over at AWFulMusic.net. This is a site I built a couple of years ago for my friend Tony Faulkner. Recently, Tony started to have problems accessing his site on his computer. We were convinced that it was actually a problem with his machine but it was still not resolved after he went as far as replacing it!! Therefore I decided to switch Web hosts to somewhere more reliable.
What should have been a fairly simple process has proved to be a bit of a nightmare. I consulted with the existing Host’s (who shall remain nameless to avoid giving them any Googlejuice) “Customer Service” Dept and was advised that I needed to pay a transfer fee for the Domain name and then cancel the hosting account. I did both of these things and now, rather than unlocking the Domain for me to transfer, they’ve simply started ignoring my Customer Service tickets! I’m not best pleased!
Anyway, as a contingency, I’ve temporarily rehosted Tony’s website at his secondary address; TonyFaulkner.net. Hopefully by posting here and a couple of other places around the web I can give enough clues to anyone looking for Tony’s site to be able to find it while I’m sorting out this mess!! To reiterate; to find AWFulMusic.net, please visit TonyFaulkner.net.

My desk comes ever closer to being clear!! I’m pleased to announce that I’ve published my latest website.
You’ll find it at TheSoundOfSinatra.com. It’s the website of Chris Mann; who, until recently, was playing Frank Sinatra on The Rat Pack – Live From Las Vegas European Tour. Chris is a fantastic performer and a fascinating guy, and it’s been great working with him to put this together. Please take a look and let me know what you think.

You may have noticed that I’ve not been around much lately. While the main reason remains the tour, a large part of why I’ve been so busy has been the amount of websites I’ve suddenly been building.
I’ve just finished 2 of them for my old college friend Adam Hutchins. He called me up a while ago to revamp his Agency site and to build him a Personal site too. I started work about a month ago and finally got the 2nd one published today. It’s been a good project during which I’ve learnt a lot. Adam was very keen on having a content management system in place so I’ve spent much time fiddling with Wordpress templates! I’ve also written a couple of plugins along the way which I’ll package up and share with the general populus shortly.
More on these soon, as well as more about my impressions of the new MacBook.
Bye for now…

Today, about 6 months after publishing his website, I actually met Jimmy Cannon!!
He’s over visiting some other friends of his who play in our band. Apparently there’s been some really positive feedback about the site – always good to hear.

The astute among the 2 of you will notice “Test Event” listings appearing in the sidebar and on the new, temporary, Events page.
In case you’re wondering what that’s about, I’m testing a plugin which I’m doctoring for use on Wordpress-powered sites for Musicians. When I’ve got everything working to my satisfaction, they’ll disappear again!
