Insomnia Rules.

I have an early-ish start tomorrow and, as usual, this means I’m still up at 2.27am. What is it about preparing and packing that renders me incapable of sleep? You’d think I’d be used to travelling so much by now….

Such A Worthwhile Day.

I’m enjoying one of those all-to-rare days on tour where everything’s
been good. So far I’ve:

  • Woken up without a hangover.
  • Had an excellent lunch at an ancient country pub.
  • Been to see ‘Iron Man’ at the cinema -a superbly played superhero romp.

Now it just remains for the gig to ruin it all!!

Edit: …and the gig wasn’t even too tortuous this evening. What a day!!

Who Does He Think He Is?

Stephen Triffit forgetting (again) that he isn\'t the real Frank Sinatra!!
Here’s Stephen Triffitt, in full Frank Sinatra garb, forgetting (as usual) that he’s not the real thing!!!
Typical!

Useful Tips for the Unlocked iPhone #4: Vodafone GPRS settings

A friend of mine also recently got an unlocked iPhone. I posted recently with the fix to get I used to get his iPhone Voicemail button working. At the end of last week, he finally got around to signing up to an internet package from Vodafone UK. Needless to say, we had a few issues getting it to work properly.

In my original “Useful Tips for the Unlocked iPhone” post I linked to a page on the Carphone Warehouse website which has listings for mobile internet settings for all the UK carriers. Unfortunately we couldn’t get his iPhone to play using these settings. I did a quick search and found some alternate settings for various flavours of Vodafone internet service. The settings that worked for us were the ones for the Vodafone “Web service” rather than GPRS. They are:

  • APN: internet
  • Username: web
  • Password: web

Simple as that. Happy iPhone surfing Vodafone users….
