TrumpetBoy
Trumpets, Music, Gadgets, Web Dev. and any other nonsense I feel like mentioning…
I finally managed to publish my latest website over the weekend. Richard Turner is a fine Trumpet and Flugelhorn player from Leeds, who is now based in London and finishing his studies at the Royal Academy of Music. Not only does he play well but he’s clearly smart enough to recognise the benefits of having his own website before his career is really even started!!
It’s been refreshing to work with someone so forward-thinking. I suspect we’ll here a lot from Richard in the coming years.

Just a quick post to test the new version 2 of the WordPress for iPhone app I discovered today. So far so good! Nice to be able to deal with pages and comments as well as posts. The local drafts never worked properly for me on the old version but they seem to be fixed [...]

Not 24 hours since it was reported that the Scrabulous application on Facebook was being blocked from users in the USA and Canada, it seems that Facebook have removed it all together. I must say that I’m pretty bummed about this.

The other day I found out about a competition being run by Gordon Goodwin’s Big Phat Band; the Big Phat Jam.
It’s been going on for the last 7 weeks or so and is now in the last (8th) week. Participants are encouraged to record themselves soloing to various backing tracks taken from the most recent [...]

I posted the other day that installing WordPress 2.1 (RC 1) had shown up some deficiencies in my Show/Hide Links plugin. I finally had time to sit down and fix it today.
The result is Show/Hide Links v.3.0.
There aren’t any changes in functionality, the only difference is that this version works with WordPress 2.1. [...]

As you’ll have likely seen in the usual places about the web, Wordpress 2.1 Release Candidate was released. The announcement was here. You can download it here.
I upgraded to this new release on this site and it’s been mostly fine except that my Show/Hide Links plugin doesn’t work. The database tables have been changed and [...]

You may have noticed that I’ve not been around much lately. While the main reason remains the tour, a large part of why I’ve been so busy has been the amount of websites I’ve suddenly been building.
