Seasons Greetings 2005

A quick post to wish one and all a very Merry Christmas. I’ll be spending the big day over with my parent’s on a rare day off from the Rat Pack Christmas show in Birmingham. Should be a lot of fun…

When blogs make you laugh out loud…

I’ve just finished my daily trawl through my Blogroll and I’m still sniggering to myself following the most recent post at Dooce.com.

If you’re not familiar with the site, you should really check it out.

And The Winner Is…

Atholl arrived at 7.53pm so Matt was the closest.

Well done Matt!!!

The Annual Descarga Sweepstake

We’re at a gig at a hotel in Wilmslow, near Manchester. We’re having what is becoming an increasingly regular occurence at our gigs; a sweepstake over what time Atholl, the sax player, arrives. We’ve been here since 4.15pm and he’s “just coming into Piccadilly now”!! He’s often late…
For posterity, here are the times we bet on:

  1. Hugh – 6.55pm
  2. Kirsty – 7.20pm
  3. Danny – 7.30pm
  4. Andrzej – 7.40pm
  5. Matt – 7.50pm
  6. Rick – 8pm
  7. Bryan (Me) – 8.10pm

It’s a pound each. Let’s see who wins the pot?

A Musician in a Marathon?

Sounds unlikely, I know, but a friend of mine Pete Shelley; saxophonist on the Rat Pack Christmas show here in Birmingham, is running in the Flora London Marathon 2006. He’s managed to get an entry running for a charity called “Help The Hospices” and now needs people to sponsor him so he’s allowed to finally participate!

So, if you’d like to help a young man fulfil his dream as well as doing a lot of good work for charity, please visit his Sponsorship website and lend your support. I certainly will be!!
