Stranded(ish) once more.
I’m writing from my Girlfriend’s apartment in New York on an unexpected extra night here. I went to the airport today to head home and was faced with a flight delay which meant that I couldn’t make my connection from Boston to Manchester. The airline were great about it and immediately offered me a couple of alternative travel plans including the option to stay the extra night. Who was I to refuse?
It’ll lead to a hectic first day back - I arrive back at around 7am on Friday and have a gig in the evening but such is life…. It always takes a couple of days to re-acclimatise to UK time so I would’ve been somewhat tired at that gig anyway. I also still get a few days at home before heading back on the road with the Rat Pack. I’m looking forward to the chance to get organised again!

[...] It’s been an interesting 24 hours. I arrived back at my Girlfriend’s place about this time yesterday to catch the end of her old room-mate moving out. This has proved to be a slightly unpleasant situation since she only gave 7 days notice of her intention to move and then advertised the room on website called CraigsList which resulted in a bombardment of forwarded emails and exchanges of upset words! How can you seriously expect to find somebody to share your living space that you trust to be in your space in just a week? To cap it all, the ex-roommate also did a runner yesterday without paying up her bills. I’m sure her reward will be forthcoming at a later date - karma has a way of catching up with you!! It seems, therefore, that my plans were somehow supposed to be changed yesterday. I know my presence and support were better appreciated in person than they would have been over the phone and after the fact. [...]
