…And Then May It Continue….

Following the beginning of my CD shopping the other day, I headed back out today to continue. Yet again I picked up many classic albums to replace stuff that got stolen from my house earlier in the year. Also, beautifully, most of them were in the sale for $7!!!

Today’s spree comprised:

  • “Montreux ‘77″ - Count Basie Big Band
  • “Caravan” - Art Blakey & the Jazz Messengers
  • “Porgy and Bess” - Miles Davis
  • “Sketches of Spain”- Miles Davis
  • “Relaxin’ with the Miles Davis Quintet” - Miles Davis
  • “Steamin’ with the Miles Davis Quintet” - Miles Davis
  • “Workin’ with the Miles Davis Quintet” - Miles Davis
  • “Face To Face” - Freddie Hubbard & Oscar Peterson
  • “Big Six” - Blue Mitchell
  • “The Cup Bearers” - Blue Mitchell
  • “Philly Gumbo Vol.2″ - John Swana & the Philadelphians

and last but by no means least;

  • “Brownie - The Complete EmArcy Recordings of…” - Clifford Brown (10 CDs)

I’m really particularly excited by the Clifford Brown boxset. I’m a Clifford Brown fan of long standing and it’s probably 12 years since I first saw this box - I’ve just never been able to afford it before. It also contains many alternate takes and rare albums that I’ve never found on CD before. I’m really looking forward to listening to it.
