Back In The Game!
I’m pleased to be back blogging again after some time without a computer! While in Zürich, amongst other problems, my laptop gave up the ghost. It exhibited all the signs of some kind of Graphics card problem so I took it to a computer shop in Munich to get it seen to. Upon inspection, the guy announced to me that the Graphics card was in perfect working order but the motherboard had a hairline fracture across it. In other words, time to buy a new one!!! In other, less considered, words - SHIT!!!!
Luckily, a new branch of the German electrical store Saturn had just opened around the corner from the theatre so I was able to take advantage of a special offer and found myself a rather splendid Acer notebook for a fraction of the UK price. After a day or so installing software and getting things to look and feel the way I like them, I’m back!!!!
The major downside to all this is obviously the money spent! Munich has a great Jazz CD store at the Ludwig Beck department store which I now can’t afford to visit. This is a severe downer as they have one of the best selections I’ve seen anywhere in the world. Boo!! Still, maybe if we get confirmation of next years tour before we leave here, I’ll be able to rethink….
